I was challenged by a friend this year to run a marathon. Unfortunately, like many races, it was cancelled but that did not stop us from preparing to run 26.2 and meeting up to run it together.
It has been easy to make excuses this year. Not many would blame you for canceling your plans or throwing in the towel on a goal that you set. However, at the end of the year there is only one person to blame for not overcoming the obstacles that were put in the way.
There are two months left in the year to get back in the game and finish what you intended. There is no one else responsible to making it happen but you. It is time to adapt to the situation.
When you cross the finish line it will be so much more significant and rewarding because you did not let 2020 get in the way of what you set out to achieve.

“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” -Abraham Lincoln
How tired to you feel right now?
Tired of working from you “home office”? Tired of balancing you kids school at the same time answering emails? Ready to jump on another zoom call and put on your happy face?
If this year seams like a drag you’re not alone. This has been a mentaly taxing 10 months for even the best of us. And who knows how much longer we will be in this same environment.
I want to encourage you to keep grinding though. Like honest Abe said above, the ones that hustle get ahead. When everyone else is feeling beaten down, rise above and keep moving forward. Shifts in the economy can lead to unexpected opportunities, but only the ones paying attention get to take advantage of them.
Look for ways this week that you can stand out from the crowd at work. During lean times this can be the difference between getting that raise or promotion or having a job at all.
Keep being Driven!

Patience has always been a struggle for me. I’m definitely not proud of it and it’s something that I’ve been trying to change for a long time. But, guess what… that change requires patience in itself. Sometimes I feel like I’m making good progress. Sometimes I feel like I take a giant step back. And sometimes I feel like I’m completely stuck.
Being a dad of 4 kids under 7 definitely doesn’t help things. I tend to let the insanity get to me a bit too quickly. From experience, yelling at my kids when I lose my patience does absolutely nothing besides making the situation worse.
So, why is it so hard to change? I want to do it. It’s the right thing to do. But it’s still sooooo hard!
I’ve been trying to meditate on Proverbs 15:18 lately. Letting that verse soak into my soul.
A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.
Proverbs 15:18
What is something in your life that you’re not necessarily proud of, or need to change? Think about it this week and find a verse that speaks to it. Read that verse every morning before you get out of bed and every night before you close your eyes. Let us know if you’re able to make a change!
